He was also elected by elections supervisors across Georgia to represent their professional association! People and processes are key to fixing the problems in our system.

In 2019, he had the unique honor of administering the oath of office to Brian P. Kemp, Georgia's 83rd Governor. He was the first African- American to do so as well as the first Probate and Magistrate Judge to swear in a Governor in Georgia.

He also served as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Constitutional Officers Association of Georgia.

As President of the Council of Probate Court Judges, he visited all 159 Probate Courts in 37 calendar days. As the President of the Council of Probate Court Judges of Georgia, he once again made history as the first African-American to be elected among his peers to serve in that role.

In Treutlen County, TJ was the Probate Judge, Chief Magistrate Judge, and is still serving as the Election Superintendent.

Elected to the bench as the Probate Judge, Chief Magistrate Judge, and Election Superintendent in Treutlen County and took office on January 1, 2005. When he was elected in 2004, he was the first African-American man to be elected as Probate Judge in Georgia and at the time, was the youngest in the state.
